Close Assault 2012
These images were taken at the Close Assault WWII re-enactment that took place on Memorial Day weekend 2012. I tried to give an authentic period look to the images. Color film was available during WWII, although not used extensively. The film speed was slow at ASA 10 and was used more for still shots than combat. Most combat photography was done with black and white film. I used color processing where it made sense, along with black and white renditions. Combat shots were processed only in black and white to be more representative of the period. The color shots were processed in a way that would mimic Kodak Kodachrome 10 film. I utilized a Kodachrome 10 Lightroom preset provided by X-equals that I adjusted a bit to taste.
