I took this shot earlier this year at the Austin Rodeo. This is the Freak Out ride, which is one of my favorites due to the elaborate light trails it creates. I've photographed it before but always from a profile perspective. It is much more interesting shooting in line with swing of its pendulum arm. The raw image was processed in Lightroom with VSCO Film 04 Velvia simulation. I haven't posted many color photos lately. Black and white has been more interesting to me but I do like a good vividly colored image. Carnival rides at night are just the ticket. I met up with a few other film photographers for a night photo walk in downtown Austin recently. We started at City Hall and wandered around the warehouse district a bit. We were out during mid-week and the streets and sidewalks were fairly quiet. I've always like the historic Schneider Bros. building that Lamberts Downtown Barbecue resides in. Taken with a Yashica-Mat 124. Film is Fujifilm Acros 100. I believe the exposure was about 15 seconds. Scanned negative was adjusted for contrast in Lightroom.
