I was down on the east side of Austin a couple of weeks ago to check out a gallery showing by a few photographer friends of mine. While walking around the area I spotted this doorway. The weathered frame and graffiti stood out in contrast with the plain walls, which looked to be painted fairly recently. This area of east Austin has been part of a revitalization the past few years. New businesses and tenants are moving in and refurbishing old buildings or tearing down the old to build new structures. Bits of vandalism like this scattered throughout the area indicate that some things have not changed. Processed in Lightroom. I was down on the east side of Austin a couple of weeks ago to check out a gallery showing by a few photographer friends of mine. While walking around the area I noticed the lone light inside this second story window. Something made me stop and look at it a while. The interesting lines created by the power lines haphazardly crossing the window intrigued me. A certain warmth spilled from this window on a cool afternoon. Processed in Lightroom.
