Which is more fearful - the thought of performing of an act for a large audience or the possibility that there will be no audience at all? The stage of Esther's Follies in Austin backs up to the large window on 6th St. - party central in downtown Austin. Esther's Follies is a modern day vaudeville theater and it would normally be quite packed with audience members and onlookers from the sidewalk I was standing on. It was closed this evening and the empty seats made for a compelling shot. Tumblr | Facebook | Twitter | Google Plus
I do a lot of black and white work lately but every once in a while a splash of color is needed. This colorful mural in east Austin caught my attention. I really liked how it went right over the utility boxes. There is a lot of great art like this popping up in this neighborhood as it continues to be revitalized. I love the mural on the Fast Folks bike shop store front in east Austin. The black skull painting on a white wall created the sort of contrasty scene that I look for in urban landscapes.
