I took this shot earlier this year at the Austin Rodeo. They call this one the Tornado and it's not hard to see why. The raw image was processed in Lightroom with VSCO Film 04 Velvia simulation. I took this shot earlier this year at the Austin Rodeo. This ride, Spin City, has some amazing movements that result in interesting circular shapes in long exposures. I took this shot earlier this year at the Austin Rodeo. This is kind of a tough ride to photograph, at least in the way I like to capture carnival rides. It's all about light and motion to me. This ride is actually lit rather dimly and you don't get anything out of the cars really after the sun goes down. I had to settle for just a little before sun down so I could preserve detail in the cars. A sunset in the background would have been nice but the orientation of the ride didn't allow for that. The raw image was processed in Lightroom with VSCO Film 04 Velvia simulation.
