Myles and the Longshots at Sahara Lounge

In my last post I shared a few shots from the Phantom Shakers at the Sahara Lounge. Also on the bill that night was a fun band that I'd never seen before. Myles and the Longshots put on a rocking show for the sparse crowd on a Sunday night. Their Rockabilly influenced music was a treat and I enjoyed hanging out while giving my Fujfilm X100F a lowlight, action packed workout.

Austin stages are such a challenge to photograph, as lighting seems to be an afterthought in most small venues. The stage at the Sahara Lounge is quite dark, with just a few small, bright lights haphazardly bouncing off a wall. I decided to process my images a little grittier than normal in order to bring some contrast to the bland, dark tones. I was shooting at ISO 12800 and f/2 all night, to give you an idea of the conditions. The X100F held its own in this environment that would be challenging even with the highest end DSLRs. Here are a few favorite snaps.

All images were taken with the Fujifilm X100f, Acros film simulation.
